Our Story

Celebrating over 25 years in Hong Kong, Life Management Yoga Centre (LMYC) began in 1998 as a small gathering in the home of founders Sangeeta and Ramesh Ahuja. Driven by the enthusiasm of our community, we grew into a dedicated 1,500 sq. ft. space in Tsim Sha Tsui, inaugurated on September 11, 2001, by Dr. Hansaji Jayadeva Yogendra, as a first overseas branch and an affiliate of The Yoga Institute, Mumbai (TYI), est. 1918.

We specialize in classical yoga, teaching the essential life skills often missed in traditional education: how to breathe, relax, communicate, and manage emotions. From men, women and seniors to students in schools and universities, we invite everyone to discover the true treasures of peace and happiness.

CO-FOUNDERS

LMYC was born from a shared moment of clarity. In the early 90s, while at a nature cure centre in India, Ramesh Ahuja sketched a plan on a single piece of paper: a dream to bring yoga and meditation back to his home in Hong Kong.

His wife, Sangeeta Ahuja, followed this path in 1996. After a life-changing health camp at The Yoga Institute in Mumbai, she returned her homeopathic medicines to her doctor, famously stating, “I now know how to take care of my mind and emotions.”

Sangeeta is a dedicated practitioner for over 30 years and has transformed the lives of over 5,000 students. Trained at The Yoga Institute, Mumbai under the guidance of Dr. Jayadeva and Dr. Hansaji Yogendra, she is a specialist in “Yoga for Householders.” Sangeeta is a Registered Yoga Teacher (Yoga Alliance, USA) and a member of the International Board of Yoga. Her holistic approach is further enhanced by certifications in Hypnotherapy (CHII) and Neuro-Linguistic Programming (NLP), alongside deep roots in Vipassana and Kriya Yoga, the lineage of Paramahamsa Yogananda.

Ramesh is a prominent businessman living in Hong Kong for over 50 years. He too has done his teacher training as well as completed the RHA – Counselling Course / Life Coach and has done in depth studies of the Yoga Sutras (ancient text which yoga is based on).

As lifelong learners whose paths in yoga perfectly align, Sangeeta and Ramesh have worked since 1998 to share this empowerment with the Hong Kong community. By blending classical yogic wisdom with a deep dedication to personal growth, they provide the tools to help every student find a state of unshakable inner bliss.

“Yoga is a way of life and the wisdom which awakens your inner self, whereby you can achieve a blissful state of mind that you do not want to depart from at any cost and in any situation”.
